The genre of EDM is the genre that allows the most use of digital technology and sounds. EDM is unique from other genres because it gives the producer the main role, creating all the sounds, placing the notes precisely where they want, etc.
Below is an EDM-ish loop that I made. It was started from just the piano (you can here it if you view the stems), and evolved into this, adding the bass, melody, and countermelody.
